K12 wanted to better connect to its virtual school families

K12, a leading provider of online education for students in grades K through 12, wanted to revamp its quarterly newsletter into a high-quality, dynamic publication that reinforced its position as the expert in K-12 curriculum and distance education. The company also needed to highlight its “edgy and fun” branding and design philosophy and marry it with editorial content that positioned the company as thought leaders.

TMG married engaging content with K12's signature brand elements

TMG crafted xPotential, a high-quality publication that features a creative-fun design that achieves the desired “edgy” effect that is the company’s signature brand. And, the editorial reinforces the company’s mission of education expertise and its delivery of state-of-the-art online curriculum. Moreover, profiles of family success stories coupled with interviews with K12 teachers and administrators highlight the K12 “family.”

K12 now reaches its audience through multiple media

Because of the positive response from readers of xPotential, K12 increased the circulation and added another special issue of xPotential targeting high school families. In addition, the company called on TMG to launch Independent Life, a new e-newsletter targeting its global customer base. The partnership has also helped K12 reach educators through a series of thought leadership articles that are distributed on educational web sites.

"TMG is flexible, nimble, and always at the ready to go the extra mile on our behalf. They are truly an editorial partner, and they created an award-winning publication that gets rave reviews from within the company and from our customers."
