JCK Magazine and TMG Featured in Folio:

Washington, DC (June 17, 2010) – Robert Newman, Art Director of JCK, was recently interviewed by Folio: in an article titled “Six Things B-to-B Editors, Designers Can Learn From Consumer Magazines,” following the magazine's recent redesign, managed by TMG

Reed Exhibitions, which acquired JCK magazine from its sister company Reed Business Information, hired TMG to manage the publishing operation of the magazine, e-newsletters and website. The first assignment was to refresh the look and content of the magazine and online property, while maintaining JCK’s independent, authoritative voice.

Robert’s redesign tips he shared with Folio: are:

1.    Package the magazine
2.    Create a sense of value
3.    Differentiate advertising from editorial
4.    It’s better to be clean than clever
5.    Think about how the reader reads the magazine
6.    White space is your friend – stop trying to jam so much on one page
