JCK Editor in Chief Victoria Gomelsky Featured in NewYorkTimes.com and The International Herald Tribune
New York, NY - (December 6, 2011) -- JCK editor Victoria Gomelsky loaned her authoritative voice on the jewelry industry to the International Herald Tribune and NewYorkTimes.com with an article on bridal jewelry titled “Modern Jewelers Bring New Twist to Bridal Designs of Old.”
The article details a trend that Gomelsky has noticed in the jewelry industry – that modern brides aren’t always opting for the traditional signature solitaire, but choosing unique designs.
One jewelry designer took her grandmother’s ring and explained to Gomelsky that she ‘wanted to see how I could make it punk rock and crazy.’
Gomelsky writes, “She reimagined the center stone as a faceted hunk of gold with a tiny diamond tucked inside the shank. The piece eventually spawned a bridal and commitment jewelry line, introduced in September, that is at once charming and impertinent: black diamonds, solitaires with inverted settings, and outré inscriptions.”
